CellaPort PT 115 is specially designed to detect the temperature of glass objects. Glass is transparent in the visible spectral range and in the near infrared range. Ist emissivity is a function of the temperature, the wavelength, the colour, the type and the thickness of the glass. Glass has an emissivity of nearly 100% in the spectral band from 4.5 to 8 μm. Atmospheric influences such as humidity and vapour have an effect on the measurement above 5 µm. The CellaPort PT 115 uses a blocking filter with a spectral sensitivity of 4.46 to 4.82 µm, thus capturing the temperature from the near surface of the glass. With this wavelength, varying thicknesses or types of glass or changing humidity do not affect the temperature reading.
