KELLER HCW hosts the traditional «New Year Doppelkopf tournament»

[January 2012] For the fifth time, a large-scale in-house Doppelkopf tournament took place at KELLER HCW in Ibbenbüren-Laggenbeck on January 13th.

A total number of 28 participants competed for the title and in the end the winner was Josef Knappmeyer. He was closely followed by Hubert Ostendorf who was the second-best player. Ralf Schröder ranked third and the only woman among the best ten players was Ilona Michel, ranking eighth.

As in the previous years, the players collected a handsome amount to be donated to charity. This year's proceeds of 145 Euros were rounded up by the management to 400 Euros and donated to "Herzenswünsche e.V." (heart’s wishes).This is a nationwide association whose objective is to fulfil long-cherished wishes for severely ill children and adolescents to make their long and tiring hospital stay a bit more comfortable. A number of already fulfilled heart's desires are listed on the association's homepage www.herzenswuensche.de.
