KELLER HCW training courses and seminars

[November 2011] KELLER HCW offers comprehensive training courses in various fields (robotics, automation technology, repair and maintenance, etc.). Thus, the courses help the customers to carry out their comprehensive service work in the brick factories. Training courses are an important issue within the worldwide KELLER service structure.

In November, we welcomed employees of the company Kılıçoğlu Kiremit from Eskişehir (Turkey) for a training course in the ceramic laboratory. Mr. Hulusi Kıyık (plant manager) and Mrs. Yasemin Kara (head of the ceramic laboratory) of the Kılıçoğlu company attended a one-week intensive training course. A special feature of this training was the fact that they brought their own factory blend from their plant in Turkey for analysis during the training. The Kılıçoğlu company is the largest manufacturer of roof tiles in Turkey with an annual output of 80 million roof tiles. Kılıçoğlu has been manufacturing roof tiles since 1927.

Special skills, such as the determination of drying and firing shrinkage, water consumption, apparent density of the brick body, bending strength and compressive strength are thoroughly trained during the course in the ceramic laboratory. In addition, reading and interpretation of measuring curves of DTA and dilatometer measurements or grain size analyses are trained. A further integral part of the training courses are extensive discussions on the nature of manufacturing defects and how to eliminate them.
