Successful participation of KELLER HCW in the Keramtex 2008 conference in St. Petersburg
[May 2008] From May 21 to May 23, the scientific-practical conference Keramtex took place in St. Petersburg under the motto "Development of the Ceramic Industry of Russia". Representatives of the ceramic industry, coming from countries like Russia, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Greece, Czech Republik and Switzerland, seized the chance to inform themselves about the latest developments and trends in the heavy-clay industry. Technical aspects were as much part of the discussions as the latest trends on the Russian ceramic market. The participants of the conference showed great interest in the lectures held by the invited guests, among them KELLER HCW-representatives Torsten Bärtels and Gottfried Ristl who gave a 15-minutes lecture on "Prospects of development of the ceramic industry on the Russian market". Further topics discussed at the conference focused on the reconstruction and construction of brick works as well as on the latest trends in the fields of shaping, packing and controlling.
The supporting programme of the conference included an offer to take part in an excursion to the brickworks "Lenstroikeramika", "Keramika" and "Pobeda LSR", which belong to the well known Russian LSR Group – one of the biggest construction and building material companies in the North-Western region of Russia. The last day of the conference was dedicated to a sightseeing tour to "Harel island" and the "Peter-and-Paul-Fortress", which was built in the 18th century. The day was concluded with a farewell dinner at the restaurant "Bridge Lounge".
KELLER HCW-area sales manager Torsten Bärtels and KHCW-representative Gottfried Ristl take a positive stock from the conference. During the last years, the Russian market has become one of the most important markets for KELLER HCW – that is why they are very pleased with the conference, for it was an excellent location to discuss problems and to tie branch contacts.
